  • I don't have any trees in my yard should I still get my sewer pipe inspected?
Yes, although tree roots can cause significant damage to the sewer line. It is not the number one cause of sewer pipe damage I've seen since I started doing sewer line inspections. Sewer lines that weren't properly bedded in the trench during installation are the most common causes of the facts I see. Also, know that sewer lines do not always run from under the front of the house to the street. Sometimes, they go through the backyard, and sometimes, they even go around the house, so the only real way to know is to have your sewer lines inspected.
  • Do you service my area?
I provide home inspection services up and down the Willamette Valley from Salem, Oregon, to Roseburg, Oregon. Including Lebanon, Oak Ridge, and Florence, Oregon. When I'm busier in the summer, I try to stick to Eugene, Springfield, Albany, Lebanon, Oak Ridge, and Florence, Oregon areas. You're always welcome to call me to see what my availability is.
  • Do you crawl under the house and in the attic?
Absolutely, these are some of the most critical areas of the home to inspect as they are the least visited areas. It's one of the most important reasons to get a home inspection because I'll go places that you don't want to go or look for things that you wouldn't have thought to look for.
  • Why should I get my sewer line inspected?
Sewer lines are one of the most important and expensive components of your home to replace, and you are responsible for its condition from where it leaves your home and travels underground to the city sewer connection. Although tree roots can cause considerable damage to the pipes it's not the most common cause of failure I find. The most common causes of sewer line failure I have found are bellies in the line, pipes that have come unglued at the fittings, construction debris in the lines, pipes that were improperly bedded during the installation process, misalignment of the pipe joints, a crushed pipe. Ask yourself this: why would I have the foundation and roof inspected but not the sewer line? Call me with any questions.
  • Can I be present during the inspection?
Typically, buyers show up after I'm done inspecting the house, and I give them an overview of my findings. Keep in mind that the overview is a snapshot of the inspection and the report will be more detailed. If you'd like to be present during the walkthrough, then we can make that work as well.
  • What if I can't attend the overview after the inspection?
I'm happy to answer as many questions over the phone as you may have if you can't attend the overview. However our 3D inspection Report is a great option for people that can't attend the walkthrough.
  • When will I receive my home inspection report?
Home inspection reports are delivered on the same day as the inspection! Inspection reports cannot be released until the inspection agreement and payment for the inspection has been made. Please get your inspection agreements signed prior to the start of the inspection, and payment can be made at the time of completion.
  • How long does the inspection take?
If you choose my half-day inspection, I will be on site for two to three hours. The rest of the time is spent writing the report and procurement.
  • Do you test the kitchen appliances?
Yes, of course. I'll test all of the built-in appliances, such as the cooktop, oven, dishwasher, garbage disposal, trash compactor, installed microwave, range vent hood, and built-in refrigerators. You have any more questions please feel free to call me anytime nights or weekends 541-357-7743.
